On this article, we will focus on Mandwic Giles Leshan. Mandwic is an amazing artist. He says he didn’t picture himself in front of the cameras and audiences rapping. His Dad was his biggest inspiration and he fuelled him on working harder.
Jason: who inspired you to make music?
Mandwic: My dad was my biggest inspiration.
Jason: what is your creative process?
Mandwic: The music that I create is so much emotion
driven. I direct reflection of what my life is like and how I process them. I don’t
mind if people like it or not. I’m just happy doing it.my creative process is just
simple I write in the morning and record in the evening. During the day I just work.
Jason: Who do you most like to collaborate
with?
Mandwic: I’d like to collaborate with Baraka
Jacuzzi and Boutross
Jason: if you could go open a show for qny artist
who would it be?
Mandwic: An open show ,probably Rod Wave not any
Kenyan.
Jason: What is the most useless talent you have?
Mandwic: Drawing funny things. I don’t draw despite
the fact that I have been doing since I was a kid.
Jason: Do you sing in the shower?
Mandwic: I do sing in the shower a little bit.
Jason: What songs?
Mandwic: Mostly Rod Wave's music.
Jason: What would you be doing right now if it
wasn’t for your music career?
Mandwic: I’d be a manager for a hotel I was working in back in 2018.
Jason: Where have you performed?
Mandwic: I’ve performed at k1.
Jason: Do you have any upcoming shows?
Mandwic: No upcoming shows till 2023.
Jason: what is your favourite song to perform?
Mandwic: still had you is my favourite.
Jason: Which famous musicians do you admire?
Mandwic: I don’t admire anyone really I just be
focusing on my own emotions and self.
Jason: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Mandwic: Best advice I’d say is hard work beats
talent.
Jason: if you could change anything about the
industry what would it be?
Mandwic: Practically I don’t have the best voice but I lay down bars
so yeah .... I’d change nothing really about the industry.
Jason: What is one message you would give to your
fans?
Mandwic: I love all my fans and I just would tell
them that I hope y'all will grow with me.
Jason: What’s next for you?
Mandwic: I’m dropping another solo album then am thinking of looking for new artists in Pangani who I can do another joint album with.
Mandwic: Well my third album is called P-street in full is Pangani street. Basically
it’s a solo album like the first one and it’s about the streets I grew up in the
challenges in my life, love , personal life and how I use music to channel my emotions
and get through them.
